Samsung is releasing it’s brand new Galaxy Note 9 on August 9th, likely beating the new iPhone release to market by a couple months!
The new Note 9 is set to include some big updates over the Galaxy Note 8, but from a design perspective, the new smartphone isn’t expected to change all that much from the older version. Recent reports have shown that the buttons, sensors, and everything else is a pretty close match to the Note 8. The Note 9 will also feature a dual-lens camera and a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device, with the scanner being moved below the camera lens (which is similar to its original positioning on the Samsung Galaxy S9).
Some other spec on the Note 9 include a 3.5mm headphone port, a USB-C port, speaker grille, S Pen silo and microphone on the bottom edge, and power/volume buttons along the left side of the phone.
There’s also set to be a wider range of color schemes available for the new Note 9. Blue copper, silver, violet, and other new colors are all rumoured to be included amongst the new options. But there’s also still a chance that this new phone will be made from a new material that Samsung has trademarked ‘Metal 12’, which is is a material that’s said to be both strong and lightweight.
Price-wise, the Note 9 does not have a specific release price listed yet, but experts claim that it will likely be on the more expensive phones on the market. The Galaxy Note 8 sold for $929 when it was first released, and with Apple pushing up the price of their latest iPhones, expect the Note 9 to do the same. But all in all, the Note 9 is poised to be one of the hottest selling phones in the Fall and going into the holiday season and the New Year!
